Vision
The vision for the project is a well resourced youth project, meeting the needs of Black and Minority Ethnic young people, run by and for young people, supported by the communities, voluntary and statutory sectors, and where Black and Minority Ethnic young people are able to reach their full potential.
Mission
Facilitating the empowerment of Black and Minority Ethnic Young People
Mission Statement
To make a positive contribution to Black and Minority Ethnic young people's personal and social development.
To put young people at the centre of the organisation and ensure that they have a voice in how the organisation is run, and about wider social issues that affect them.
To provide safe and supportive environments, with Black and Minority Ethnic positive role models and to ensure a positive sense of identities and histories for all users.
Aims
To reduce isolation and increase self esteem and confidence of Black and Minority Ethnic young people.
To help and educate Black and Minority Ethnic young people aged 11 to 25. The project will provide opportunities to take part in social and informal educational activities and will make a positive contribution to the physical, psychological, spiritual development of young people.
We do this by:
Providing opportunities to access information, advice and support to young people.
Providing opportunities to take part in social and informal educational activities
Making contact and developing positive relationships with young people based on mutual respect
Giving young people opportunities to:
- Share their experiences, needs and issues that are relevant to their lives
- Take action to improve their lives
- Get accredittion and recognition for their contributions to taking part in and developing activities with the BMEYPP.
