A Youth Invitation To African Culture
In April 2009 we imported 10 djembe drums from the Gambia and a group of young people attended workshops in African Drumming with Ebou from African Night fever. We have also been teaching a group of young people at Portslade Community College The groups performed at the launch of the Youth Arts Festival and at our Fringe Festival event in May 2009.
During Black History Month 2009 we ran workshops for youth groups accross Brighton and Hove to teach young people and youth workers African drumming. African cooking and African cave paintings.
